Bladen Consulting, together with its sister company, The Energy Foundation, can offer a wide rance of training courses in regard of energy assessment services.
Our public scheduled training is available in a number of locations, including Preston, London, Reading and Birmingham, and now also Scotland, and can be accessed via the Energy Foundation website at www.energyfoundation.co.uk
Courses that are routinely available include:Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment at Level 3
This is the entry level course to become an energy surveying professional. It is a 3 day training course, which includes a practical excercise in surveying and the production of an EPC. After the completion of the course, production of a portfolio of work to support the NVQ process and an exam, you will become a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), and be qualified to produce the EPCs and HIP on any domestic properties.
This course also establishes the foundations of energy assessments that are expanded in the other courses as listed below. This course is suitable for any individual with english, mathematics and computer skills.
Diploma in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment at Level 3
This is the qualification to provide commercial EPCs. After a 4 day training course, an exam and the production of a portfolio of evidence primarily produced through undertaking trial surveys; you will become qualified to produce EPCs for offices, shops, factories, etc.. This course establishes the basics for all non-domestic energy qualifications and is suitable for any professional person with some prior understanding of energy assessment or surveying. Candidates will also need to possess good English, mathematics and excellent computer skills.
Diploma in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment at Level 4
This course builds on the Level 3 course, and gives candidates the technical knowledge to be able to perform energy assessments i complex commercial establishments. Achievement of the Level 3 (Dip NDEA) is a pre-requisite for this qualification. Due to its complexity and technical nature, experience of building services is also required.
Diploma in Display Energy Certificates at Level 3
This is the qualification to provide Display Energy Certificates for public buildings. It requires a good level of commercial building services and good mathematics and computing skills. After a 2 day training course, an exam and the production of a portfolio of evidence primarily produced through undertaking trial surveys; you will become qualified to produce DECs for the public sector. This course builds upon the the training provided in the DEA course and assumes some existing knowledge of energy assessment or building services. This course is unlikely to be suitable for candidates that have no previous experience in building services. Again, candidates should possess good english, mathematics and computer skills.
